Third on the list of common intrusive animals, opossums too can cause damage to dwellings. Not as agile as squirrels o raccoons the opossums are usually found entering dwellings trough crawl spaces. Like raccoons, these reclusive marsupials are opportunistic in their search for food and eat mostly meat but will also eat fruits and grain. Garbage cans and pet food dishes are first on the list of dining for an experienced urban opossum and will return each night once he has found a productive spot.
Like raccoons, the opossum can be dangerous to pets or poultry and they too can be susceptible to rabies. Their scat/feces can carry parasites that can be harmful to kids, pets or horses.
